PCRC: How and Why

A rare combination between theoretical and practical hardly we found in my profession journey with a different national and international organization. Almost every organization is abounded with the theoretical giants that cuts a sorry figure in attain a project’s goal successfully. So, driven by the passion of acquiring knowledge with a view to bringing about positive changes in the arena of research and consultant especially in Bangladesh by applying pragmatic expertise along with the acquired knowledge, with the direction of Md. Shahidur Rahman Choudhary, Ph.D, Professor , Department of Social Work,  University of Rajshahi, established PCRC that stands for Pragmatic Consultancy and Research Center bearing the slogan ‘Searching Sooth, Planning Progress’, an organization that will be dedicated to work for the excellence. How something will happen and by who largely determines the strategy of the successful implementation of every single endeavor in Bangladesh. This influential saying guides we finding out and fixing the valiant professionals one by one from the consultant, research and development sector. Now it is a matter of pride that PCRC is a family of 102 members including Chief Advisor, Advisors, Consultants and Executive. PCRC is working to help the government in the programs to establish smart Bangladesh with respect to  prospect of language movement, Liberation war and other movements of Bangladesh in fulfillment of the dream of Bangabandhu. It also works for climate change & disaster management, GESI and disable people.

The chief advisor of the organization possesses more than 16-years of experience of working with different government and donor funded national and international organizations. Other advisors and consultants associated with PCRC are also vastly experienced and they are working as the honorable teachers of numerous public universities and other relevant officials.

• PCRC, being equipped with audio enhanced and computer-assisted self-interviewing (ACASI) module, provides the interviewer with the option of listening to pre-recorded audio files of questions and answer options which increase the data quality.
• The survey tool contains a live sync feature which helps the administrators to view live data as it enters the system depending on availability of internet coverage in the survey area.
• PCRC acts as development partners to shape the effective planning and proper policy design of national development endeavors.
