Aishwarya Sanjukta Roy Proma is a Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at the University of Rajshahi. Alongside her academic role, she is serving as a Research Consultant at the Pragmatic Consultancy and Research Center (PCRC), where she is involved in applied research and policy-oriented projects in collaboration with national and international partners.
Before joining the University of Rajshahi, she worked as a Research Associate at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) at BRAC University for two years. At BIGD, she was closely engaged with governance and political economy research, contributing to long-term studies on democratic practices, local governance, digital financial inclusion, and social change in rural Bangladesh. Her responsibilities included research design, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, field coordination, and academic writing. During this period, she contributed to three working papers and one position paper, as well as multiple policy briefs and analytical reports that informed both scholarly discussion and policy dialogue.
At PCRC, Aishwarya is currently working on several research initiatives, including projects in collaboration with World Vision Bangladesh, and other internationally funded programs. Her work at PCRC focuses on governance, development policy, institutional performance, and the social impact of public and non-governmental interventions.
She is a Gold Medalist and completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in International Relations from the University of Dhaka. In addition to academic research, she regularly writes on contemporary political, governance, and international affairs issues. Her opinion pieces involve topics such as democratic accountability, electoral reform, youth participation, civic engagement, and evolving geopolitical and foreign policy dynamics. She has also authored a peer-reviewed journal article examining Bangladesh’s strategic positioning amid shifting regional and global power alignments. Her broader academic interests include democratic governance, public policy, development politics, international relations, and the role of institutions in social transformation.
